PHILIPPE COUTINHO has predicted a bright future for Liverpool despite leaving them for Barcelona.

Coutinho completed a £142million switch to Barcelona on Saturday night and will give his first press conference later today in front of the Spanish media.
The Brazilian, who has been suffering with a thigh injury, is in line to make his debut for the Catalan giants against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night (8.30pm).
After finishing his Anfield career with seven goals in eight games, the 25-year-old ended his time on Merseyside on a positive note.
And he thinks that the current squad that Jurgen Klopp boasts, has put his old club in good stead for the second half of the campaign.

“The signing of Virgil van Dijk is a statement, Mo Salah is a wonderful footballer," Coutinho told the Daily Mail.

Coutinho's new team-mates meanwhile, have rushed to congratulate the playmaker on the transfer, including Luis Suarez.
"I am very happy with the arrival of Coutinho,” Suarez said after Barca beat Levante 3-0 in their first La Liga match after the Christmas break.
“He's a great player.
"It's a profile that the team will enter very well."
