MANCHESTER UNITED have triggered the one-year option in the contracts of four first-team players.

The contracts of Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Ashley Young and Daley Blind were all due to end in the summer but Manchester United have decided to extend their deals to avoid losing them on a free transfer.
It means United can still request decent fees if they decide to sell at the end of the season.
Of the quartet, Young has featured the most in a variety of positions but is currently serving a three-game suspension.
Herrera was one of United’s best players last season but have been forced to settle for a place on the bench more often that not following the arrival of Nemanja Matic.

Mata, is a well liked and respected member of the United squad with vast experience.
While Blind, has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid in some reports.
According to the Telegraph, Mourinho will decide whether the players have a long-term future at Old Trafford.
