Leon Goretzka to Bayern Munich DENIED in big boost for Liverpool, Barcelona and Arsenal
LEON GORETZKA has NOT signed for Bayern Munich, his agent has confirmed.
Leon Goretzka is wanted at Liverpool, Barcelona Bayern and Arsenal
Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool all thought they had missed out on the winger after reports emerged that he was pledged to Bayern.
German newspaper Sport Bild had claimed Goretzka, whose contract at Schalke expires at the end of the season, had agreed to join Bayern on a free transfer next summer.
But his agent has spoken out to deny the speculation in a mega boost for Goretzka’s other suitors.
"When the decision has been made, Leon and I will inform Schalke first of all," Jorg Neubauer told Sport1.
Schalke director Christian Heidel added: "Leon has not informed us that he has decided to change the air, and I trust Leon and his representative, with whom I had contact yesterday.”
Liverpool are said to have eyed up Goretzka, 22, as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
A bid rests on whether or not Barcelona can come to an agreement with Liverpool over the Brazilian.
Incidentally, Goretzka is an alternative transfer target for Barca if Liverpool hold firm on Coutinho.
As for Arsenal, they have been linked with Goretzka for weeks.
He is seen as a potential bargain buy because his contract is set to expire, meaning Schalke could accept a cut-price offer in January.

A bid from Arsenal may depend on whether or not Alexis Sanchez joins Manchester City this month.
The Gunners reportedly also prefer Monaco’s Thomas Lemar as a direct replacement for Sanchez.
But that deal would prove expensive - especially midway through the season - and that makes Goretzka’s availability even more favourable.
