Real Madrid to sign striker Mir in first deal of transfer window
REAL MADRID are reportedly set to sign striker Rafa Mir in their first deal of the January transfer window.
Real Madrid plan to sign Valencia contract rebel Rafa Mir
Real Madrid wanted to sign Mir, 20, in the summer.
But his club Valencia refused to do a deal.
Now, however, the two sides appear to have come to an agreement that will see the forward initially join Real’s reserve team.
That is according to Spanish outlet Marca, who claim Real are plotting to sign the frontman within days of the transfer window opening.
Mir has been ostracised from the Valencia first team this season following his efforts to force a move to Real in the summer.
Rafa Mir will cost Real Madrid £444,000
He will join Real for just £444,000 (€500,00), Marca report.
Mir was spotted at the Bernabeu for Real’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Clasico before Christmas.
He was transfer listed after snubbing a new contract at Valencia, who are currently three points ahead of Real in the La Liga table.
And Mir’s arrival could open the floodgates for more signings this January.
Real Madrid are expected to land Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa, who is keen to join the ranks under manager Zinedine Zidane.
Chelsea defender David Luiz has also been linked.
Real are said to be interested in landing another Blues player, Eden Hazard, although that deal will likely be put off until the summer.
