Brentford vs Aston Villa: Sky Sports pundit David Prutton delivers prediction
ASTON VILLA will improve on last season’s Griffin Park horror show when they face Brentford today (7.30pm).
Brentford vs Aston Villa
That is according to Championship pundit David Prutton, who believes Steve Bruce’s side are “a tougher nut to crack” this term.
The Bees stung Villa earlier this year thanks to Lasse Vibe’s brace and Nico Yennaris’ strike.
It was a chaotic display from Villa, who limped home to a mid-table finish on their first season back in the Championship.
But they are chasing promotion this time round and Prutton is expecting an even game.
Aston Villa news: Manchester United make Sam Johnstone transfer demands
Villa are a tougher nut to crack now so I'll back a draw here
He told Sky Sports: “Aston Villa went to Griffin Park earlier this year and got absolutely turned over by Brentford, who put in a brilliant performance to win 3-0.
“There have been plenty of changes at both clubs since, however, and you'd expect this to be a very different game.
“The Bees got a great win at Norwich on Friday night and have had nearly 24 extra hours to prepare for this one, but Villa are a tougher nut to crack now so I'll back a draw here.
“1-1 with Ollie Watkins to score first.”
Vibe, who bagged both goals in Friday’s win at Norwich, is a doubt for Brentford.
Bruce could ring the changes to his starting XI but John Terry and Chris Samba are unavailable.
