Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette slammed by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville
ARSENAL striker Alexandre Lacazette has failed to live up to his expectations after his club-record signing from Lyon last summer.
Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette has not lived up to expectations, says Neville
That is the verdict of Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville.
Lacazette has featured in all 19 of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, scoring eight goals.
The Frenchman has been left out of all Europa League and Carabao Cup matches, with manager Arsene Wenger opting to rotate his team in those competitions.
Neville has seen plenty of potential in Lacazette, who scored 36 goals for Lyon last season.
Has he done as well as we thought he would? Probably not
But he says some Arsenal fans are not completely happy with the start he has had at the club.
“He’s been okay,” Gary Neville said.
“From a point of view, has he done as well as we thought he would? Probably not.
“But, when you can see is if he gets the right service in and around him, he can be a real threat.

“He’s a goalscorer, he sniffs things out.
“I think early on in the season we thought ‘here we go, Arsenal have got a real player’.
“A few of the fans mentioned outside actually that it’s not quite materialised in the way in which they thought it would.
“But he’s still got time, it’s still early in his Arsenal career.”
