Leeds news: Whites plan to sign Spanish striker Alfredo Ortuno... but there's a twist
LEEDS UNITED are plotting a move for Spanish striker Alfredo Ortuno.
Leeds United are plotting to sign Alfredo Ortuno
But Elland Road bosses are not planning to sign him for Thomas Christiansen’s team.
According to Spanish publication Diario de Leon, Leeds want to send Ortuno immediately on loan to partner club Cultural Leonesa.
Ortuno, 26, is out of contract after leaving Real Valladolid earlier this season.
He spent last season on loan in the Spanish second division with Cadiz, scoring 17 goals.
Leonesa are owned by Qatari group Aspire Academy, whose CEO Ivan Bravo sits on the board of directors at Leeds.
Whites midfielder Ouasim Bouy is currently on loan with the Spanish second division side.
But Bouy has managed just four appearances for Leonesa, who are 19th out of 22 teams in the league.
As a result, his loan spell could be cancelled next month.
Leeds could send new signing Yosuke Ideguchi to the Spanish club
Diario de Leon report that Leeds could also send new signing Yosuke Ideguchi to Leonesa.
Leeds have agreed a deal to sign Japan international midfielder Ideguchi from Gamba Osaka.
The 21-year-old will cost an initial £500,000 fee but he is unlikely to be granted a work permit so a loan move to a European club is on the cards.
