Leeds news: Thomas Christiansen makes big Felix Wiedwald claim
LEEDS UNITED goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald is “one of the best” in the Championship.
Felix Wiedwald has been described as one of the Championship's best keepers
That is according to head coach Thomas Christiansen, who is looking past the freak goal Wiedwald conceded in last Saturday’s 3-1 win at QPR.
A number of pundits and fans have expressed concern about the German summer signing, who was dropped for seven games earlier in the campaign after a nightmare performance in the 3-0 defeat to Cardiff City in September.
But Christiansen is sticking by his man ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Norwich City (3pm).
“I have passed that page already,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
Felix, when you see his numbers, he is one of the best in the league with clean sheets and saves
“He made one mistake but he also saved the team two important points when the score was 2-1.
“I look for the positive things that he did.
“I am happy with what I have, this is clear.
“Felix, when you see his numbers, he is one of the best in the league with clean sheets and saves.”

After the QPR win, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani urged fans to get behind Wiedwald.
A supporter urged Radrizzani on Twitter to sign a “new keeper”.
But he replied: “No one talking about his great save on the 2-1?
“It’s time to support our players and be all together... many points to get playing and fighting united.”

Meanwhile, Leeds will be boosted by the return of three players for the Norwich clash.
Pablo Hernandez, Hadi Sacko and Jay-Roy Grot are all fit after missing the QPR clash.
Caleb Ekuban is set for a short spell on the sidelines after limping off at Loftus Road.
Leeds feared he had suffered a similar injury to the one that ruled him out for three months earlier in the campaign.
But Christiansen said: “Caleb will probably miss some games but I have to use the players in the squad that I have.”
Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Stuart Dallas will also miss out.
