Man Utd news: David de Gea tells Real Madrid what he needs to quit Old Trafford
DAVID DE GEA has told Real Madrid he will leave Manchester United in the summer for a £250,000-a-week contract, according to reports in Spain.
David de Gea is reportedly willing to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid
David de Gea has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid ever since his switch to the Bernabeu fell through in 2015.
The Manchester United No 1 has reportedly not given up hope of returning to Spain where he began his career with Atletico Madrid.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim he has once again been in contact with Real president Florentino Perez.
He is said to have held talks with the Bernabeu chief and told him he will leave Old Trafford for a £250,000-a-week contract.
Real Madrid have been dealt a blow in their pursuit for Thibaut Courtois
David De Gea: It's a dream to play for Manchester United
However, the report suggests De Gea’s ‘come and get me’ plea may have fallen on deaf ears as Real are pursuing other targets.
Athletic Bilbao stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois top their transfer wishlist instead.
And Perez reportedly thinks they offer better value for money than De Gea who is demanding to become one of Real’s top earners.
But Real were dealt a blow in their pursuit for Courtois this week after he claimed he is likely to agree a new deal with the Blues.
“My private situation is always gnawing a little bit, but for the rest I'm feeling very good at Chelsea,” he said.
“I don't see any reason why I won't sign a new deal. I just want to consider all options. Everything has to be right.
“Within a couple of months we will sit around the table again and talk openly. There's no pressure, apart from the media. The clubs knows that too.
“Basically I want an agreement before the end of the season. Normally with Chelsea."
