Liverpool news: Frank Lampard tells Jurgen Klopp to make very specific signing in January
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp needs to buy players in January who are not cup-tied in the Champions League.
Klopp insists he will field strongest side against Spartak Moscow
That is according to BT Sport pundit and former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard.
Liverpool qualified for the last-16 of the Champions League with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow last night.
Goals from Philippe Coutinho (three), Sadio Mane (two), Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah also guaranteed they finished in the all-important top spot in Group E.
Lampard is impressed with the Liverpool squad but admits they need to strengthen a couple of areas.

They’ve got to pick somebody who’s not playing in the Champions League currently so you can use them in the next stage.
And he says the signings they make must be available to play from the start of the knockout stages in February.
“It’s a good squad, it’s just slightly weak in really important areas as we keep saying,” Lampard said.
“Yes (they’ve got to make signings in January).
“Yeah I think they will do that, in terms of the Champions League they’ve got to pick somebody who’s not playing in it currently so you can use them in the next stage.

“I think they will do, there will be players available.”
Lampard’s colleague and former England team-mate Rio Ferdinand believes a defender and a goalkeeper should be priority signings for Liverpool next month.
“I think they need a keeper as well (as a centre-back), I think a keeper would be a great addition to that squad as well,” Ferdinand said.
