Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp reacts to controversial Simon Mignolet decision against Stoke
JURGEN KLOPP has hit back at suggestions that Simon Mignolet should have been sent off for Liverpool.
Simon Mignolet could have quite easily been sent off against Stoke
Klopp’s men enjoyed a 3-0 victory away to Stoke this evening to enhance their hopes of a top-four finish.
A double from the Premier League’s leading scorer Mohamed Salah and a Sadio Mane strike ensured the Anfield outfit left the bet365 Stadium with all three points.
There was a controversial moment in the game when Mignolet came haring out of his box and made a mistimed challenge on Mame Biram Diouf.
Mignolet was cautioned, but the home fans thought he should have been sent off.
But Klopp unsurprisingly disagreed.

I don’t think it was lucky with Simon Mignolet
“That is a proper away game, it is a difficult place,” Klopp said.
"I don’t think it was lucky with Simon Mignolet, there were two defenders around the situation and he is not the last man.”
Liverpool’s win sees them stay in fifth spot, two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
