MANCHESTER UNITED hero Jesse Lingard says he kept his composure when scoring a stunner in the 4-2 win over Watford on Tuesday.
Manchester United star Jesse Lingard scores their fourth goal
Lingard galloped through the Watford defence to strike low into the net with four minutes remaining.
The match was in the balance at 3-2 to Manchester United at the time after Watford had scored twice in quick succession to give them a glimmer of hope.
But England international Lingard exploited the stretched game late on with a charging solo run and shot.
The reaction on the touchline was one of jubilation and Lingard explained how he did it.
"I saw the space open up in front of me and just went for it,” he explained after the game.
“Anything can happen in football, so when we conceded we just tried to keep our composure, and then, we tried to do the same when we went ahead again."
The 4-2 win moves United to within five points of Manchester City, although their rivals play their game in hand against Southampton on Wednesday.
For United it was a third straight victory in the Premier League after the 1-0 loss to Chelsea at the start of the month.
