Liverpool news: Luis Suarez talks up Philippe Coutinho Barcelona transfer - it’s a step up
LIVERPOOL star Philippe Coutinho would bring a lot to Barcelona and needs to take the next step in his career, according to Luis Suarez.
Philippe Coutinho looks like a player who needs a move to Barcelona, says Luis Suarez
Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho was a top target for Barcelona in the summer as they sought a long-term replacement for Neymar.
The Reds held firm and rejected the La Liga giant’s advances, despite the 25-year-old handing in a transfer request.
Barca are said to be preparing another move for Coutinho in January and are expected to be met by a similarly hard-line response from Anfield.
However, if the deal does go ahead, Luis Suarez thinks his former team-mate would be a huge addition at the Nou Camp.

When asked what Coutinho would bring to the table, Suarez told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: “A lot.
“I know him as a person and as a player because I played with him, but everyone knows what Coutinho can contribute.
“He is a footballer, who today, plays at a very high level.”
And Suarez thinks Coutinho harbours ambition to play for a bigger club, insisting a move to Barcelona would take his career “a step further”.
“Obviously he must have [ambitions to play for Barca] because he’s a player who has ambition and any player would want to come to Barca,” he added.
“He went through a difficult and very complicated moment but as a professional he continued to show how good a player he is and the personal quality he has.
“Despite trying to leave Liverpool he continued helping the team and working.
“He is demonstrating as a professional who has the ambition to take a step further.”
