JUAN MATA insists Manchester United’s 4-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge last season will not play on their minds ahead of a return to west London on Sunday (4.30pm).
Mourinho: The team gave their absolute everything
United will be looking to close the five-point gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table when they play Chelsea.
Mata won the FA Cup and Champions League while at Chelsea, before switching allegiances in 2014.
The Spain international has since rediscovered his top form this campaign and claims he is not seeking revenge for last season’s heavy defeat.
"No, there's not revenge on my mind,” Mata said.
“(They are) totally different games, what happened last season, happened last season and now we have to think in the present.

It's always a difficult game playing Chelsea away but we will try our best.
“It's always a difficult game playing Chelsea away but we will try our best.”
United have come under pressure after recent below-par performances against top sides such as Tottenham and Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho has headed into such crucial battles with a defensive approach.
But Mata insists that the Red Devils will aim to play aesthetically pleasing football, as well as trying to get the right result.
Mata helped United beat Benfica last night
"It's always difficult to play against the top teams, but those are the games you want to play, me included,” Mata added.
"There is a lot of pressure around the game but obviously we will try to play our best football and try to win and come back to Manchester with three points. It'll be tough but we'll try.
"That's what happens when you play for Manchester United, (there's) big expectations and everyone wants the club to play good and to win.
"And you have to manage that when you play for such a club. We'll try to win and to have a good game also - that is what is in our minds.”
