Robert Pires makes two transfer claims about Arsenal and Man Utd
ROBERT PIRES thinks Fabinho could complete a move to Manchester United in January.
Thomas Lemar won't join Arsenal but Fabinho could go to Man Utd, says Pires
But the Gunners legend is far less optimistic over whether his old club can sign of one of their key targets - Thomas Lemar.
Arsenal had a club-record £92million bid accepted by Monaco for the forward on deadline day.
The Gunners wanted to bring in the France international as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who was close to joining Manchester City.
But Lemar rejected a move and both transfers ended up falling through.
On whether Lemar will join Arsenal, Pires told bwin: "I don't know. Arsene tried to buy Lemar, and tried very hard, but I don't think the move will happen now.
Robert Pires doesn't believe Arsene Wenger will bring Thomas Lemar to Arsenal
"I don't think he's worth £90m, it's too much, the market is crazy. What would Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho be worth now!"
As for Lemar's team-mate Fabinho, Pires thinks a possible deal is on the cards.
The former France midfielder said: "I think this could happen in January, or next summer. Manchester City could also be interested.
"But they've got Fernandinho at the moment, who is playing very well."
