Real Madrid News: Florentino Perez refuses to join Barcelona over PSG transfer storm
REAL MADRID president Florentino Perez says he doesn’t have a problem with “a friendly club like PSG”, who have angered Barcelona over their transfer dealings.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez refused to criticise PSG
PSG spent £200million on a hostile purchase of Barcelona’s Neymar in the summer.
Barcelona hit out at PSG, claiming they had breached Financial Fair Play regulations over the deal.
They have sued Neymar and appealed to UEFA over what they deem is an FFP breach, only for European football’s governing body to concede PSG have done nothing wrong.
The French club then signed Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe - initially on loan to offset the £166m transfer fee until next summer - from Monaco.
But Perez has refrained from criticising the Ligue 1 club.
“I don’t know how they’ve done it and I don’t want to criticise a friendly club like PSG,” said Perez in an exclusive interview with El Espanyol.
“But you have to comply with Financial Fair Play, like everyone else, and I suppose if they have done so then it is because they’ve been able to.”
He added: “We thought about Mbappe last year but we have a pretty complete team. He is very young and has many years ahead of him, and in that sense I think he made a good decision.

“He is at a very important club, in his own city, and it wasn’t easy to bring a player here who promises a lot.
“But he is very young and maybe needs a club like PSG to play more often.”
