The 48-year-old is said to be unhappy in west London despite leading the Blues to Premier League glory last term.
And it is thought that a number of Serie A clubs are interested in appointing him as their head coach.
The Italian FA currently lead that charge as they openly want their former boss back after the World Cup next year.
And today Conte admitted in his pre-Roma press conference that he is flattered to be linked back to his homeland.
It is widely reported that Conte is unhappy with life at Stamford Bridge
Roma is a top team, I am proud of seeing my name close to them
"Roma is a top team, I am proud of seeing my name close to them,” he said.
“Great team, great city, great players.
"I know [Daniele] De Rossi, [Alessandro] Florenzi and [Stephan] El Sharaawry very well. I know their hearts."

The Blues face Roma tomorrow (7.45pm) as they look to continue their 100 per-cent record in the Champions League.
Conte had a successful maiden season at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League at the first time of asking.
But if Roma or the Italian FA come knocking come the end of this season, it would not be surprising to see the former Juventus boss jump at the chance to move home.
