QPR news: Tony Fernandes responds to Ian Holloway sacking rumours
QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has denied speculation that manager Ian Holloway is under pressure.
QPR are reportedly considering Ian Holloway's future
The Rs are currently 15th in the Championship table following a mixed start to the season.
It was reported by The Sun that Holloway could be sacked if QPR lose to rock-bottom Bolton Wanderers next weekend.
But Fernandes has taken to Twitter to defend Holloway.
“Zero facts about Ollie,” he said on the social media site. “Not even a second of thought this.
“This is a project and we want stability. Ollie is doing a grand job.
“Every match we compete and we have been unlucky with injuries. Yet squad has done well.
“End is story. Let’s focus on the pitch and transfer windows. Scouting scouting scouting. And young players coming through.”
QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has responded on Twitter
QPR chiefs reportedly believe they should be challenging for a top-six finish despite their stricter budget.
According to The Sun, Portsmouth gaffer Kenny Jackett is a possible target to replace Holloway.
QPR picked up a 1-1 draw at Sunderland but Holloway believes they were good value for all three points.
“We're bitterly disappointed,” Holloway told qpr.co.uk. “We got ourselves in front and felt we could get the next goal, which we needed.
“If you analyse the game and the amount of chances we've created as the away team, we're disappointed [not to win].
“It's a difficult place to come, but we aren't getting what we deserve on the road.
“It's a great strike [for Sunderland’s goal], but we're disappointed we didn't put a foot in or a block to stop it.
“The lads have looked a good side today and it was a decent away performance. We feel we should have got more out of it.”
