Liverpool news: I’m just happy to have Philippe Coutinho - Jurgen Klopp
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp says he’s more happy with just having Philippe Coutinho in his side than worrying what is his best position.
Philippe Coutinho will be key for Liverpool against Man Utd
Coutinho has been reintegrated back into the Liverpool team after a summer dominated by his desire to join Barcelona.
But the Brazilian was denied a move as Liverpool rejected his transfer request and three offers to keep him at Anfield.
And their strong stance has been rewarded with Coutinho scoring goals in three consecutive games.
Coutinho is likely to play a major role for Liverpool in today’s clash with Manchester United and Klopp may move him into a position in the front three due to Sadio Mane’s hamstring injury.
“I don’t believe too much in positions. It’s about when we have a system, everybody knows where’s my first responsibility to defend
And Klopp says that regardless of Coutinho’s ability to play in various positions, his biggest responsibility is defending properly.
Klopp told Sky Sports: “I think he can play in both positions. And a third one. And a fourth one. That’s how it is.
“I don’t think it makes sense that we think where is his best position. Having him on the pitch is a good thing to have.

“I don’t believe too much in positions. It’s about when we have a system, everybody knows the first responsibility is to defend.
“And the rest should be fluent and flexible, different movements.
“And then when you do it right in defending, if you lose the ball you have a short way back. But the best thing is to have him on the pitch, that’s cool.”
