Harry Kane: England and Tottenham star as important as Lionel Messi and Ronaldo - Anderton
TOTTENHAM and England striker Harry Kane is as important as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are to their respective teams.
Harry Kane: The England star is as important as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, says Anderton
That is the view of former England and Tottenham winger Darren Anderton.
Harry Kane starts and captains England for their World Cup qualifier against Slovenia tonight (7.45pm).
The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 13 goals in eight games for club and country in September.
Many ex-players and pundits have claimed Kane is now one of, if not the, best centre-forwards in the world.
He is the complete centre-forward, he does everything
Anderton believes Kane has everything a striker needs and says he is vital to both England and Tottenham.
“I think he’s that important (as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo),” Anderton told Sky Sports.
“I think they’re completely different players of course.
“He is the complete centre-forward, he does everything.
David Ginola: 'Bring Bale back and KEEP Kane'
Harry Kane: Tottenham star Kane captains England against Slovenia tonight
“He scores goals with his head, he leads the line, left foot, right foot.
“He works hard for the team, he’ll go in channels if he needs to.
“He doesn’t get bullied by any centre-backs, he’s strong, he knows how to look after himself.
“As a player and having him in your team, he’s a dream to play with. Of course a manager’s dream as well.”
