Liverpool news: Summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain attacked by Dietmar Hamann
DIETMAR HAMANN has criticised Liverpool for signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool in the summer
Liverpool spent £35million to bring the former Arsenal winger to Anfield on deadline day.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was also linked with a move to Chelsea, but he got cold feet over a deal as he found out he wouldn’t be playing in his preferred central midfield position.
Instead, he chose a switch to Merseyside, as he felt he would improve more under Jurgen Klopp.
But Hamann doesn’t feel Liverpool needed to sign the England international.
“On the bench tonight, you had Sturridge, Coutinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain - I'm not sure why he was bought,” Hamann told RTE.

I'm not sure why he was bought
“In defence, you have the likes of Moreno and Lovren - I'd have questions marks over these two and Klavan who was a sub tonight.
"I have rarely seen a more unbalanced squad in Liverpool's history.
“It's very top heavy. In a recent game they won 4-0, they lose 5-0 and tonight they give the game away.

"They are always prone to mistakes. I don't think this team is going anywhere."

It remains to be seen whether Klopp will hand Oxlade-Chamberlain his first start.
