Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne: Liverpool red card helped us thrash them
KEVIN DE BRUYNE indicated the extra man gave Manchester City the edge during their victory over Liverpool this afternoon.

City thrashed Jurgen Klopp's men 5-0 at the Etihad but they truly took control of the match after Sadio Mane was sent off in the first half.
At the time, the score was 1-0 and the game was still finely poised but after Mane’s red Pep Guardiola’s possession-hungry side turned the screw on their opponents.
The Senegalese attacker was given a straight red by ref Jon Moss after a high boot on City keeper Ederson and the visitors could not live with Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and Belgian playmaker De Bruyne.
Ederson was taken off and replaced by Chilean star Claudio Bravo after the incident, but the Reds did not even have a shot on target in the second half.
De Bruyne was instrumental in City’s crushing victory, helping his side with two assists whilst Jesus scored twice, Aguero got one and Leroy Sane added salt to the wounds with two late goals.

We are used to having an extra man but you just have to stay concentrated
And the ex-Chelsea man, playing a deeper role these days, said they had prepared for cases like today.
He said: “We play a lot of small games in training so we are used to having an extra man but you just have to stay concentrated.
“We all stayed focused, we didn't give Liverpool much of a chance in the second half.”
Manchester City have gone top of the table, but with Manchester United playing Stoke later on that could change.
