Arsenal News: Thomas Lemar mega contract to cost Gunners £65m
ARSENAL are willing to hand Thomas Lemar a staggering contract to convince him to join in January, according to reports.
Arsenal want to sign Thomas Lemar in January
Arsenal are desperate to sign Lemar and claim they missed out on a deadline day deal because they ran out of time to agree terms.
Arsenal had a £92million bid from Monaco accepted and were all set to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City in a £55m deal.
But the move collapsed when Lemar couldn’t be convinced to sign the player.
Arsenal remain hopeful of securing the France international when the January transfer window opens.
And the Guardian claim they will handsomely reward the 21-year-old for finally ditching Monaco.
According to the report, Arsenal will offer Lemar a five-year contract worth £250,000-a-week.
That would amount to £65m over the duration of the terms.
And, if the UK’s current top tax rate stays at its current 45 per cent, Lemar can expect to have earned £35.75m net by 2023.
Arsenal target Thomas Lemar scores a SCREAMER for France
The Guardian claim there is ‘no reason’ to believe the deal will not go through in January.
Monaco were not keen on losing Lemar but the money offered by Arsenal for one of France’s top attacking talents was too great to refuse.
