Liverpool stars look sharp in training ahead of Man City clash – Philippe Coutinho returns
LIVERPOOL were hard at work on the training pitch this afternoon, with Philippe Coutinho returning to the fold after an eventful summer transfer window.
Philippe Coutinho has returned to Liverpool training ahead of their clash with Manchester City
Jurgen Klopp’s side put in the hard yards at Melwood today as they get back up to speed following the international break, with Brazilian superstar Coutinho one of the those making their return to training.
Liverpool face Manchester City at the Etihad this Saturday (12.30pm), and manager Klopp will have an almost full-strength squad to choose from for the Premier League clash.
Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are still out injured, but the reintegration of want away ace Coutinho will be a big boost to the Reds as they look to continue their fine domestic form.
The 25-year-old had been targeted by Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar, but a deal failed to materialise after Liverpool reportedly valued the ace at £183million.
Deadline-day signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also present, having enjoyed his first day of training yesterday, while Danny Ings took full part in the session after missing all of last season injured.
