Liverpool transfer news: Barcelona chief hints at Philippe Coutinho move in January
BARCELONA chief Josep Maria Bartomeu has hinted they could resurrect their interest in Philippe Coutinho in January.
Philippe Coutinho scores INCREDIBLE goal for Brazil
Barcelona failed to convince Liverpool to sell Coutinho in the transfer window, seeing bids as high as £118million rejected.
But Coutinho remains intent on joining the Spanish side with reports describing the Brazilian as 'crestfallen' at having to stay at Liverpool.
It was also claimed this morning that Coutinho may consider skipping the Champions League to ensure his eligibility for Barcelona in the knockout stages if he makes the move in January.
And when asked whether Coutinho might arrive in the new year, Bartomeu told Mundo Deportivo: "I'm not talking about names. We'll see."

Despite the denial from Liverpool, Bartomeu once again claimed the Reds put a £183m price tag on Coutinho.
He said: "[It's] True, we were asked 200 million [euros]."
Bartomeu also insisted there is no disappointment within the club at not being able to bring in Coutinho.

He said: "Perhaps there was the need to bring one more player to round the template but before these prices and this inflation, in the end, has been decided not to pull forward the negotiation.
"Now [we have] to wait a few months until the window of January and if we see that it is necessary, to make the retouchings what it is."
