Liverpool fans have praised FSG for refusing to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona
Barcelona director Albert Soler has revealed Liverpool wanted €200million (£185m) for Philippe Coutinho on deadline day, with the Spanish giants unwilling to meet such a high asking price.
Liverpool have been adamant throughout the summer that Coutinho would not be sold, although the latest development suggests enough money would have seen the Brazilian depart Anfield.
Reds fans are delighted FSG rejected lower offers for the 25-year-old, having claimed their player was not for sale.
While the owners may well have sanctioned a move had they received a £185m offer, they are being praised on Twitter by supporters for holding on to their prize asset.
