Liverpool transfer news: Juventus confirm they want to sign Benedikt Howedes
BENEDIKT HOWEDES looks set to join Juventus instead of Liverpool, according to the club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.
Benedikt Howedes is on Liverpool's radar
Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his back four, and with a move for Southampton star Virgil van Dijk stalling, the German tactician is looking elsewhere.
Recent reports suggested the Reds are prepared to spend £18million on the 29-year-old.
Howedes knows Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip well from their days spent together at Schalke.
But Marotta has confirmed Howedes is a serious target for the Bianconeri.
“We are looking for a defender who may play both to the centre and as wing-back," he said.
