The rookie defender, 20, made an instant impression on Premier League debut for Spurs in the 2-0 win at Newcastle earlier this month.
He was replaced by Kieran Trippier against Chelsea on Sunday but Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan and wants him to battle for a first-team spot.
“I joined the club as an under-11, so it does make it a lot sweeter being here for so long, growing up in the Tottenham area and supporting the club,” he said.
Spurs yesterday completed the signing of back-up goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga from Southampton for a fee in the region of £2million.
The Argentine will be third choice behind Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm.
