Manchester United declined to extend Ibrahimovic’s one-year contract this summer after he suffered a season-ending injury in April.
The Swede has remained in Manchester to work on his rehabilitation, with an aim to be fit again by January.
United are keeping their options open over re-signing the 35-year-old.
AC Milan also want to bring the forward back to the San Siro.

Maybe he’ll stay with us
But Mourinho told Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset that Ibrahimovic remains likely to return to Old Trafford.
"Maybe he’ll stay with us,” Mourinho said.
“He has no contract but he is closer to Manchester.”
Milan have already spent over £150million on new players this summer but want another striker.
Their pursuit of Chelsea’s Diego Costa has been met with frustration, with Costa himself not keen on the move.
Milan are also interested in former United striker Radamel Falcao, although he is not a first-choice transfer target.
Ibrahimovic played at Milan for two seasons - first on loan from Barcelona before his switched in a deal worth around £19m in 2011.
He lasted one more season at the San Siro before Paris Saint-Germain swooped for the Sweden legend.
