Arsenal Transfer News: Valencia manager confirms Gabriel interest
VALENCIA want to sign Arsenal defender Gabriel this summer.
Valencia want to sign Arsenal defender Gabriel
Gabriel missed the end of last season with a serious knee injury but should soon return to full fitness.
The Brazilian joined Arsenal in 2015 and is a regular at centre-back alongside Laurent Koscielny.
But Valencia manager Marcelino believes he can prise the 26-year-old away from the Emirates.
Discussing his transfer targets, Marcelino told reporters he is also keen on Jeison Murillo and Ivan Marcano.
“I think they’re possible,” Marcelino is quoted as saying by OA Sport.
“We’re talking about important players who already know our League. They speak Spanish, and that’s important, so their adaptation would be very quick.”
Arsenal are not likely to be interested in selling Gabriel this close to the start of the season.

They would also have to source a new centre-back, with Per Mertesacker playing an increasingly withdrawn role on the pitch.
Arsenal face Chelsea in the Community Shield today, with the Gunners set to play three at the back.
