Arsenal 1 - Sevilla 2: Gunners suffer pre-season setback with sloppy Emirates Cup display
ARSENAL showed they still have work to do ahead of the new season after they were beaten 2-1 by Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.
Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette celebrates scoring
After a thumping 5-2 win over Benfica on Saturday, a completely different Arsenal XI struggled to match their Spanish opponents.
The first half was even between the two sides but Sevilla looked the classier and more settled team.
And their superiority was rewarded early in the second half when Joaquin Correa raced onto Ben Yedder's through ball and finished smartly past Petr Cech from close range.
The home side went searching for an equaliser and got their goal in the 61st minute when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shook off the attentions of Clement Lenglet on the right wing and his pass across the box was missed by Danny Welbeck but Alexandre Lacazette tapped in at far post.

However, Sevilla responded in stunning fashion shortly afterward when former Stoke midfielder Steven N'Zonzi curled a left footed shot past Cech and into the top corner.
Arsenal pushed for a second goal but rarely tested Sevilla in the closing stages with the closest they came being an Aaron Ramsey shot which flew just wide.
Despite winning both their matches, Sevilla finish behind Arsenal in the Emirates Cup table on goals scored meaning the Gunners lift the pre-season trophy.
