Alvaro Morara will score a lot of goals for Chelsea - Thibaut Courtois
THIBAUT COURTOIS is confident Alvaro Morata will hit the ground running at Chelsea.
Morata gets assist against Bayern Munich on Chelsea debut
Morata completed a club-record £60million move to Chelsea from Real Madrid last week.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte brought the 24-year-old to Stamford Bridge as the replacement for outgoing Diego Costa - last season's top goalscorer.
And Courtois reckons Morata, who made his debut off the bench in the 3-2 friendly defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, is capable of filling Costa's boots up front.
"I think he has only spent a few days with the team," Courtois told Goal of Chelsea's new signing.
Thibaut Courtois has high hopes for Chelsea new boy Alvaro Morata
Alvaro Morata is a very good striker and he will score a lot of goals for us
"He has to learn our way of playing but I think he came in very well.
"He was dangerous. We saw some of his ability. He is a very good striker and he wll score a lot of goals for us."
Chelsea conceded all three goals against Bayern Munich after 27 minutes - and Courtois believes his side went down too easy in the first half.
Marcos Alonso pulled one back just before the half-time whistle and Michy Batshuayi bagged another with five minutes to go to make the scoreline more respectable.
"We didn't start as well in the first half. I think the three goals were a bit too easy," Courtois added.
"But after that in the second half we got a bit better. We scored two goals. We came back better but the first half was not good enough from us."
