Alexis Sanchez could cost £70m if he leaves Arsenal - David Seaman
DAVID SEAMAN has urged Arsenal to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez at all costs, but reckons they could get up to £70million if he were to leave.
Football expert says Alexis Sanchez head has been turned
Alexis Sanchez is in the final year of his contract and has so far refused to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Manchester City and Bayern Munich have both been keeping tabs, as they seek to add a marquee addition to their respective squads.
A new £275,000-a-week contract has been floated to Sanchez, but that hasn’t been enough to get him to commit his future to the club.
Arsenal are supposedly adamant Sanchez won’t be going anywhere this summer.
And Gunners legend Seaman thinks it would send out a wrong message if the 28-year-old left, but thinks he could fetch up to £70m if he quits the Emirates.
Alexis Sanchez has yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal
He’s got a year left on his contract, his price-tag, I’d guess, would be around £50-70 million
“I would do whatever it takes to hold on to him because he’s a quality player who you wouldn’t want to be leaving the club, especially to your rivals," Seaman said.
“Sanchez-type players are the ones Arsenal should be bringing in.
“To replace him, It’d be hard. What are they going to get for him?
David Seaman thinks Alexis Sanchez would fetch a huge sum of money if he left the Gunners
"He’s got a year left on his contract, his price-tag, I’d guess, would be around £50-70 million – you can’t guarantee spending that money and getting a player as good as Sanchez."
Sanchez hit 30 goals in all competitions for the Gunners last season.
