Darmian, 27, failed to make his mark under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United last season.
The Italy international managed just seven Premier League starts and doubt has been cast over his future at Old Trafford.
Reports claim he is scheduled for crunch talks with Mourinho about his future.
It is said the Portuguese boss wants him to stay at Manchester United as he is a useful squad player to have due to his versatility.

But the United boss will not stand in his way if he wants to leave.
One of Darmian's major concerns is apparently his lack of playing time at United, which could jeopardise his chances of making the Italy squad for the 2018 World Cup.
And Di Marzio reckons the club are now determined to let him go.
This will come as a boost for Juventus, who have been heavily linked with a move for him.

It is suggested that Darmian has already phoned Mourinho to say he wants to join the Serie A champions.
And Max Allegri's side would keen to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent £17.5million deal.
Darmian is contracted to United until the summer of 2019.
