Kyle Walker to Manchester City: Tottenham to make hefty profit with Porto swoop
TOTTENHAM have already identified a replacement for Kyle Walker, who is on the verge of joining Manchester City.
Tottenham will look to sign Ricardo Pereira after selling Kyle Walker
Tottenham have agreed to sell Walker to City for £53million - making him the world’s most expensive defender.
The England international is expected to have a medical in Manchester today ahead of his move.
And Spurs have wasted little time seeking out a replacement, with Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira in their sights.
That is according to the Times, who claim Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has settled on Pereira as the man to replacement the departing Walker.
A £22m bid for the Portugal international has been lined up, meaning Spurs will make a hefty profit for a like-for-like swap in their defence, the Times claim.
Pereira, 22, joined Porto in 2013 and spent a season on loan at Nice before returning to the club last term and playing a regular part in their Champions League campaign.
City’s interest in Walker has been ongoing since the start of the summer - but has only accelerated in recent days following a collapsed move for Dani Alves.

Alves had been identified by Pep Guardiola as a strong back-up right-back to Walker, who was the boss’ first choice heading into the summer.
But Alves declined to be a bench-warmer at the Etihad, instead opting to join Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal worth £25m.
Guardiola did not want to be without either of his top targets and so swiftly sanctioned a move for Walker.
