Robert Lewandowski may think about Manchester United or Chelsea move - Gabriele Marcotti
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI may consider a move to Manchester United or Chelsea, according to European football expert Gabriele Marcotti.
Robert Lewandowski shows off talent on the pitch
Yesterday Lewandowski was linked with a switch to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Chelsea the clubs said to be interested in his services.
Bayern Munich do not want to let their star man leave but both English clubs are in the market for a centre-forward.
Marcotti is not certain the reported interest is correct, but if it is, United and Chelsea would struggle to convince Bayern to sell the Poland international.
"I think we've been here before with Lewandowski and Lewandowski's people," Marcotti said on ESPN FC.
Gabriele Marcotti says Robert Lewandowski may think about a move to Man Utd or Chelsea
If you have a nice packet on the table, a big club like Man United or Chelsea, maybe Robert Lewandowski will think about it
"You'll remember a couple of years ago there was the same issue, but with Real Madrid at the time.
"This is how intermediaries make their money, they know Manchester United are looking for a centre-forward and can afford one. They know Chelsea are looking for a centre-forward and can afford one.
"They try to put together a deal and certainly if you are Lewandowski's agent, you don't mind if people go out and do that.
Gabriele Marcotti says Man Utd or Chelsea would struggle to agree a fee for Robert Lewandowski
"But the thing is, you need to get the club to agree. In modern football it's rare that you have, certainly a player like Lewandowski, in a position where he forces through a move.
"They're trying to bring a deal to the table but ultimately it's down to Bayern.
"I'm not even sure it's Lewandowski himself initiating this but if you have a nice packet on the table, a big club like United or Chelsea, maybe he will think about it, but ultimately you have to agree a fee with Bayern, and they can be quite stubborn."
