West Ham, Newcastle and Everton have been keeping tabs on the 27-year-old, who was restricted to just 13 Premier League starts last term after missing a chunk of the season through injury.
Express Sport understands Arsenal are all exploring the possibility of a deal, as Arsene Wenger will have in excess of £100million to spend.
But according to the Daily Star, the Hammers have distanced themselves from signing the England international.
The report says Slaven Bilic doesn't feel it is a necessity to strengthen in that position.
Chris Smalling's future remains in doubt
It would be a strange summer if we weren't signing players like that
It is suggested he is confident with the options he has at his disposal with the likes of Winston Reid, James Collins and Jose Fonte.
Instead, Bilic would prefer to bring in a full-back.
As far as United are concerned, Lindelof's arrival hasn't worried Smalling's team-mates.
