Chelsea plot Marcus Bettinelli swoop as Thibaut Courtois back-up: He rejected them before
CHELSEA are ready to resurrect their interest in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
Marcus Bettinelli is being target by Chelsea
Antonio Conte is searching for a reliable back-up to Thibaut Courtois after Bournemouth confirmed earlier this week they had signed Asmir Begovic for an undisclosed fee.
The Blues are lining up their options, with Conte eager not to rest on his laurels after his side’s Premier League success this term.
And according to the Daily Mail, Bettinelli has been earmarked as a potential signing.
It is reported Conte is an admirer, however it is unknown whether the 25-year-old would be prepared to play second fiddle to Courtois.
Chelsea are light of goalkeeping options following Asmir Begovic's departure
The money would no doubt be better than what he is currently on at Fulham.
It is reported tentative enquiries have been made for his services.
This isn’t the first time Chelsea have been interested in Bettinelli.
Chelsea says an emotional goodbye to John Terry
The Blues came close to signing the English shot-stopper in 2015, however he turned down a move as he was worried about his first-team prospects.
Depsite making just eight Championship appearances, he helped Fulham reach the play-offs.
But their chances of promotion to the Premier League were ended by Reading at the semi-final stage.
