Chelsea to recycle £2m Salah fee in immediate new signing
CHELSEA have made a £2.5million bid for Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
Marcus Bettinelli was Fulham's first-choice goalkeeper last season
The Blues are keen to land Englishman Bettinelli to bolster their homegrown ranks and provide competition for second-choice stopper Asmir Begovic.
The bid, according to the Times, comes as an agreement with Roma over the loan of Mohamed Salah draws close.
Roma are thought to have settled on a £2m fee for the Egypt international, who will stay on loan for a season before making the move permanent.
It is a deal not dissimilar to Fiorentina's arrangement with Salah earlier this year that saw the winger go on loan to the Florence club.

However, Salah rejected a chance to permanently move to the Viola and also reportedly snubbed Inter in order to force a move to Rome.
As for Bettinelli, the 23-year-old made 45 appearances as Fulham's first-choice goalkeeper last season - helping the side avoid relegation from the Championship.
He will become Chelsea's third signing of the summer if he does complete the switch - following Begovic and forward Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge.
