Liverpool chief Peter Moore: I've been gathering transfer ideas down the pub
LIVERPOOL chief Peter Moore has joked he has been picking up transfer ideas from supporters in the pub - but he is unlikely to act on them.
Peter Moore has claimed he's been eavesdropping on Liverpool supporters in the pub
Peter Moore has been brought in as Liverpool's new chief executive, succeeding Ian Ayre who left the club in February after 10 years.
The Liverpool-born 62-year-old has relocated from the USA to Merseyside for the role, which he starts today.
And he has revealed he has already begun planning for the Reds' future by eavesdropping on supporters' transfer conversations in local pubs.
"I wandered down the road looking for a pint on Sunday and I just sat in the pub listening to three guys on the next table," Moore said.

"[They were] dissecting every position for 45 minutes. It was compelling.
"They didn't have a clue who I was.
But the former EA Sports executive joked he is highly unlikely to heed their advice.
And he admitted he trusts "implicitly" the calls of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Edwards.

"There's two Peter Moores - the fan who has his own opinions about what needs to happen - and that Peter Moore stays in a box somewhere," he added.
"And then there's the Peter Moore that trusts implicitly what Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp and their staff are doing right now.
"We've got that well under control."
But that does not mean Moore will ignore the fans' voices, adding:" "When I think about what we need to do here there's a mentality that I have that I will call fan first.
"Which is when we make decisions 'what does this mean for the fan?'"
