Chelsea Transfer News: Antonio Conte targets PSG star to replace this player
CHELSEA are weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to replace Asmir Begovic, according to reports.
Asmir Begovic: Lifting the silverware keeps me going
Earlier today Chelsea confirmed the departure of Begovic who has completed a £10m move to Bournemouth.
Bournemouth have finally landed the Blues’ No2 on a five-year deal after failing to sign him back in January.
And it seems Chelsea are wasting no time in looking for his replacement.
With Thibaut Courtois Antonio Conte’s first-choice, the Italian wants to ensure he has competition for a starting place.
Alphonse Areola is attracting interest from Chelsea
And The Sun claim PSG’s Areola is the man on his wishlist.
Areola managed just 15 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants before losing his No1 spot to Kevin Trapp this season.
After falling down the pecking order the 24-year-old is said to be open to move away from the French capital and is looking for a fresh challenge.
And while it won’t be easy to replace Courtois at Chelsea, Areola could consider a move to the Premier League champions if the Blues come knocking.

Areola remains under contract with PSG until 2019.
Portuguese veteran Eduardo recently put pen to paper on a one-year extension but remains Chelsea’s third-choice goalkeeper.
Chelsea also completed further transfer business earlier today with the departure of striker Dominic Solanke.
The 19-year-old has agreed a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool with a fee expected to be around £3m.
