Paul Pogba: Manchester United star blasted by Graeme Souness
GRAEME SOUNESS has taken a major swipe at Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Paul Pogba mimics Griezmann’s goal celebration
Pogba, the world's most expensive footballer, opened the scoring for Manchester United in their 2-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League final.
But the France international has struggled at times to justify his £89million price tag.
Souness has been a vocal critic of Pogba at times this season.
And the former Liverpool midfielder has hit out again at Pogba, accusing him of lacking an understanding of football.
He said on Irish TV channel TV3: "I don't see him doing enough special things.
I've never seen him run a game
"You spend that kind of money to make a difference in the big games. I don't see him this season changing any of the big games because of the 'brilliance' he's shown.
"He does eye-catching stuff, which with all due respect to people who don't understand the game so well, (they) go 'wow, wasn't that great play?'
"What I see as a midfield player, an old midfield player, is someone that's not really got a great understanding of the game.
Graeme Souness is not a fan of Manchester United's Paul Pogba
"I see him use his athleticism. I see him use a trick, a flick.
"But I don't see someone on the ball who's really understanding the game as a midfield player.
"I've never seen him run a game and I think you spend that kind of money for the big guys to change the big games and he's not done that enough."
