Liverpool confident of signing this Leicester star: £12m bid to be tabled
LIVERPOOL are reportedly edging closer towards signing Leicester star Demarai Gray.
Liverpool are confident of signing Leicester winger Demarai Gray
Gray, 20, has failed to make his mark for Leicester this season with just nine Premier League starts to his name.
He has apparently grown frustrated at his lack of minutes for the Foxes and will reportedly weigh up his options at the end of the season.
The England Under-21 international has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham amid the uncertainty over his future at the King Power Stadium.
And the Daily Mirror claim Liverpool are ready to step up their pursuit of the former Birmingham star.
It is suggested that Liverpool are ready to table a £12million bid to trigger the winger's release clause.
And they are said to be increasingly confident of getting a deal over the line.
If the transfer goes through Leicester will make an £8.5m profit in just 18 months after they triggered the £3.5m clause in his Birmingham contract.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his ranks ahead of a potential Champions League campaign next season.
If Liverpool beat Middlesbrough they will secure a long-awaited return to Europe's elite competition and the signing of Gray could prove to be a shrewd addition.
Gray has made 42 appearances across all competitions for Leicester this season and has scored just two goals.
He is contracted to the club until the summer of 2020.
