Manchester United to make Jose Mourinho contract decision after Europa League final
MANCHESTER UNITED could scrap plans to offer Jose Mourinho a new long-term deal if he fails to take them back into the Champions League.
Mourinho: The players are EXHAUSTED as team is down
Jose Mourinho faces his biggest game of the season against Ajax on Wednesday (7.45pm) in the Europa League final.
The Portuguese tactician initially signed a four-year deal when he succeeded Louis van Gaal last year.
United chiefs were supposedly prepared to hand him a bumper deal when it seemed they might finish in the top four.
However, despite already steering United to EFL Cup glory, things haven’t quite gone to plan in the Premier League with his side set to finish sixth.
Mourinho was given parity with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola when he signed a deal worth £15million-a-year last summer.
He became the only manager in the club’s history to win a trophy in his opening campaign.
United finish off their season at home to Crystal Palace today (3pm).
