Arsenal win transfer battle with Liverpool and Everton for defender - Bundesliga expert
ARSENAL have seen off all the competition to sign Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, according to Bundesliga expert Olly Knack.
Sead Kolasinac has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Arsenal
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Sead Kolasinac for months after the defender failed to agree a new deal with Schalke, meaning he was available on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old left-back's situation attracted a number of Europe's top clubs, including Liverpool, Everton and Juventus.
However, Bundesliga expert Olly Knack has claimed the Gunners have won the race to sign the highly-rated Bosnia and Herzegovina international.
"He was in the mix for a few other clubs as well - Juventus, Manchester City, Everton and Liverpool were mentioned," Knack told talkSPORT.
"But obviously it looks like Arsene Wenger has the most money available, and was most eager to sign him.
"And the other argument for Kolasinac is there are a few other players he knows from the Bundesliga - a few other German players [at Arsenal]. He will fit in perfectly at Arsenal."
Sead Kolasinac will leave Schalke on a free transfer in the summer
Kolasinac considered one of Bundesliga's most underrated
Kolasinac is believed to have signed a five-year deal with the Gunners, keeping him at the Emirates until at least 2022.
When asked about the deal this week, Wenger said: "We can deny that story at the moment. Nothing has been concluded with anybody.
“I think it is important we do not talk about transfers.”
Kolasinac has made 36 appearances for Schalke this term in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing nine assits.
He predominantly operates as a left-back but has at times this season been pushed further forward into a left-sided midfield role.
