The 27-year-old was spotted arriving at the city centre hotel around midnight following United's 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo, and bumped into a pair of stunned supporters on the front steps.
The Italian has been struggling for game time since moving to Old Trafford, but played the entire match as Jose Mourinho's men edged past their Spanish opponents on aggregate.
With the Red Devils through to the final of the Europa League, Darmian was obviously in a good mood and stopped for a chat and a selfie with the fans before heading back to his Jeep.
Supporters often gather outside the Lowry hoping to snap a quick picture with their favourite players, with the hotel well-known as United's preferred base for all home matches, and this patient couple were duly rewarded.
Looking aheadm United will face Ajax in Stockholm on May 24 with the Dutch club having failed to win a European trophy since their Champions League triumph over AC Milan in 1995.
