'Wenger out' protesters hilariously crash Labour event
Football is under the spotlight after a series of stunning financial revelations.
It has recently emerged Manchester United paid Zlatan Ibrahimovic a £3million goal bonus in addition to wages of £367,640 a week for his efforts this season.
And Mino Raiola is also said to have pocketed £41million after bringing Paul Pogba to Old Trafford last summer.
Martin Keown reckons the finances involved in football are staggering
Arsenal's 2002 title-winning team had average wages of just £10,000 a week
"So if you played every game, you could expect to earn something like £150,000. A lot of money, but a reward for success. And, crucially, it was a team bonus, shared out among the players.
"Arsene Wenger’s attitude was: ‘If you play well and are a regular and you are successful, then you deserve the money.’
"I agreed with the sentiment. Zlatan earned £999,000 in one month of bonuses alone. Staggering."
