Newcastle, Sunderland's fierce north east rivals, have already secured automatic promotion back to the top-flight after a season in the Championship.
The Magpies lured midfielder Jack Colback to St James' Park on a free transfer in the summer of 2014 after he left Sunderland - but Pickford insists he won't be following in the midfielder's footsteps.

"Jack's playing on the other side of the water these days unfortunately. I would never do that," Pickford said. "I couldn't do it myself. I would never go to Newcastle.
"[Leaving Sunderland] is not something I've looked at yet and it's not something I want to look at either."
