Agent drops transfer ultimatum threat over Arsenal star
ARSENE WENGER's contract decision could influence Olivier Giroud's future at Arsenal, according to his agent.
Olivier Giroud has been linked with Marseille move
Giroud has been heavily linked with a return to Ligue 1 this summer, with Marseille said to be keen on the Arsenal striker.
And while Giroud's agent has denied any contact with Marseille, the Frenchman is expected to assess his plans once Wenger has made an announcement on his future.
The Gunners boss is out of contract at the end of the season and is said to have a two-year extension on the table, but is yet to reveal his decision.
But Giroud's sole concern at the minute is helping Arsenal qualify for the Champions League as they sit six points off the top four.
Olivier Giroud to assess future after Arsene Wenger decision
“Nothing is true," Michael Manuello told Foot Mercato. "There was talk that Olivier was in contact with [Marseille boss] Rudi Garcia. I said that that was false.
"There is no contact between Marseille and us. At this point, there is no contact. Olivier wants to help his team qualify for the Champions League.
"When we know exactly what Arsene Wenger is doing, we will ask ourselves questions. We will think about what is possible and what is not possible.”
Olivier Giroud signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal in January
Giroud signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal in January, and Manuello insists the France international remains committed to the north London club.
He added: "Things have not changed since his contract extension. Our desire is be at Arsenal long term. Olivier has been there for five years.
"The aim for Olivier is still to go as far as possible in this adventure with Arsenal to do great things there.
"At some point, if the two are to separate, we will see. But it is not the intention of the parties.”
