ARSENAL have planted a £42million price tag on the head of Mesut Ozil.

Ozil, 28, has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal in the summer with his contract situation up in the air.
The Gunners are keen to tie Ozil down to a new long-term contract with his current £140,000-a-week deal set to expire in 2018.
But talks have stalled over a fresh terms with Ozil holding out for a £250,000-a-week deal.

Express Sport understands Ozil is now ready to sign a new deal at Arsenal with a compromise set to be made over his wage demands.
However, Turkish outlet Fotospor claim Arsenal have reached the point of giving up on trying to keep Ozil at the club after asking for £42m from interested clubs for his services.
One of those potential suitors are Manchester United with Goal claiming Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing him and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Old Trafford as he looks to bolster his ranks in the summer.

The report adds Fenerbahce are also interested in the playmaker with the Turkish giants making enquires about his availability.

Ozil has made 28 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season and has scored seven goals.
